The open data behind our local pages, with where it comes from, its licence and its limits. These datasets are drafts on a preview site.
Datasets
- Power cuts by region: Ofgem’s reliability figures for all 14 electricity licence areas in Great Britain, and our live power cut archive.
- Flood areas by council: official flood alert and warning areas from the Environment Agency, SEPA and Natural Resources Wales.
- Where the A&E departments are: hospital emergency departments from official NHS lists, with straight-line distances.
- Water resource zones: the Environment Agency’s zone map for England.
- Phone and broadband coverage: Ofcom’s predicted coverage for each council, January 2026.
What we log
Every 15 minutes, we record new or changed records from these public feeds. Logging started on 1 November 2026, so the archive is not a history yet.

Gaps
- SP Energy Networks and Electricity North West: their live data needs an account, so they are not in the archive. Ofgem’s yearly figures cover them.
- National Highways road closures: the feed needs registration.
- Water supply zones: we have not found an open official map. Council pages list each water company and its incident page instead.
- Live mobile network outages: we have not found an open feed.
- Northern Ireland: not covered yet.
Using the data
Every dataset page lists the original publishers and their licences. Please credit them as well as us. The datasets are drafts and may change.
